Summer Day in the City, oil, 16 x 20" available
This summer my husband Dean and I went to New York City for the day. We had a crazy start trying to catch the train at the Stratford Train Station... no parking.. couldn't buy tickets... so we chased the train down to the Fairfield Station where we sat in the car eating lunch and waiting for the next train to stop.
Finally making it to the City by 12:15pm with only a few minutes to spare... the taxi driver took a wrong turn... got stuck in traffic... and got us to the door of the Lincoln Center 15 minutes late. Ugh... but somehow they let us, allowing us to sneak in the back entrance .... just in time to hear Dr. David Jeremiah preach! It was amazing, They were filmed for an upcoming bible study series on the end times. Really awesome message.. so happy we didn't miss it.. On our way back we had more time to walk around and take in the NYC scene. I love this view. It's very close to Lincoln Center where there's a tall statue and water fountain. Lots of folks just hanging out talking, sitting in the sun, reading and of course plenty of shopping at the mall nearby.
This painting will be part of my latests works that will be on display and for sale at the Shoreline Harvest Art Festival in Branford, CT on October 8th. I'm working hard to produce several new pieces to show. I'll also have a rack with older pieces for sale and info on custom pet portraits. If you're in the area please stop by and say hi! Lots of great things happening that day at the festival - Live music, food, pumpkin painting and over 40 local artists. Hope to see you there!

Rock'n Lobster, oil, 12 x 12" available
This past 4th of July weekend was a busy one for us but we managed to squeeze in some rest and relaxation and ... yes a Seafood Fest for two!
The weekend started off with a catering job for our friends Terri and King. Their son was getting married and they wanted a light fare after the ceremony. A Dessert buffet - cookies, fruit cups, fruit kabobs and chocolate covered strawberries.... for 350+ guests!
Terri did almost all the baking and Dean prepared the rest. He chopped and chopped and chopped!
One our way home, exhausted but hungry we stopped at one of my favorite places, Stew Leonard's. I grew up going to Stew Leonard's with my mom and brother when they started off as a small dairy/vegetable stand... and they grew and grew and grew! Now they have several location but I have to say., they really do have some of the freshest seafood in the area!
The plan was just to buy a few lobsters..... but... well... Dean got a little carried away. Along with the lobster we had, scallops, shrimp, 2 kinds of clams, muscles and of course... he just had to get octopus! That remained in a separate bowl on the other side of the table!
I'm hoping to post more of my new work as I complete them. I have two shows coming up in October, The first is Oct 8th - One Day- Branford Art Festival on the Branford Green. I believe there will be over 60 artists under one big TOP TENT! I'll post more details in the upcoming blog posts!
