Savor the Moment oil, 16 x 20" on gallery wrapped canvas SOLD I painted this painting the week after Easter.. it just took me a little while to shoot a photo and post it here on my blog. I hate to say this but I've been neglecting my blog... not because I don't have anything to say :)....
It's more like... well... life just gets busy and trying to juggle so many things... and good things I might add. Teaching art in a few different locations, pet portraits and commission work, as well my own work... not to mention, the other stuff like ... kids, husband, house, and church stuff. It's funny sometimes when I walk into Stop and Shop in North Haven, no matter how hard I try to stay focused on my grocery list ...the flowers in the flower shop, conveniently located to the left of the entrance.... well.... totally distract me! It might be the color, the way they are arranged, the scent or a combination of all three factors,,, but they're like a magnetic force. I get pulled right over... totally side tracked .... or to use my daughter's words... "Mom... your track sideways!".... I just can't help it... the ideas and images of paintings and colors start swirling in my head.. If I could I would. Scoop them all up... fill up an entire carriage of flowers, head right to the check out line... who needs food... when you have tons of beautiful flowers to paint. Go to my studio and just paint away! Most of the white lily flowers were still closed and each day one would open. The fragrance of these lilies were so aromatic that the dining room smelled more like a flower shop that an eatery, This tea cup is one of my favorites to paint, it's delicate floral pattern and gold trim edges just steeps with the feel of an old fashion tea party. The plums gave it just the right color balance and harmony, which also reminded me of a favor tea my daughter and I loved to drink together - it was a seasonal tea around the holidays called Sugar Plum Spice Tea by Celestial Seasonings. I think Veronica picked it because it had fairies on the box... like mother like daughter... go for the well designed attractive label. This painting is currently in the 24th Annual Cheshire Art League Show at the Cheshire Library. The show runs until the end of the month. Reception will be Thursday May 26th. Thanks for reading my blog and viewing my work! Linda
