"Worthy is the Lamb", oil, 6 x 6, NFS
Today is Day 14 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge that I signed on to be apart of with Leslie Saeta and over 260 other artists.
My theme is: Connecticut Treasures.
Today's painting was inspired by an event I went to last night at the Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport, CT.
This is what the Newtown Bee Newspaper wrote:
"Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment have announced that some of the most popular contemporary Christian rock and pop acts in the world will perform a free concert on Tuesday, January 15, at Webster Bank Arena.
The concert is intended to serve as a night of spiritual healing for the Newtown community and a night of remembrance for the Sandy Hook School students and teachers who lost their lives on December 14, 2012.
The complete concert lineup includes Grammy winners Casting Crowns, Toby Mac, American Idol 's Mandisa, Building 429, Max Lucado, Laura Story and Steven Curtis and Marybeth Chapman. The performance will begin at 6 pm."
It was an unforgettable performance one that has truly left me speechless.... perhaps that is just what this concert was to do... because for me, not only is the tragedy of Sandy Hook Elementary School indescribable but also the number of people who have responded in love and compassion to put an event on of this size (over 10,000 attended)....all can say is... continuing to pray for all the Newtown families, and residents of Connecticut- may hope and healing come to all of them.
