![]() "Resting in Green Pastures" oil, 6 x6 SOLD Today is Day 15 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge that I signed on to be apart of with Leslie Saeta and over 260 other artists. My theme is: Connecticut Treasures. I was inspired to paint this interior after reading Myra's blog post from My Blessed Life - Myra is an interior designer and she has one of the most beautiful blogs I've seen. I was also doing a little research on Bigelow Tea Co. ( suggestion for my sister-in-law Gail) and found out that Ruth Campbell Bigelow, an interior decorator started Bigelow Tea in her Connecticut kitchen in the 40's and now in Fairfield CT, Bigelow Tea Company produces over 400 tea bags per minute, employees over 330 people and has a tea plantation in South Carolina. Below are two video links if you're interested, one, is Ruth Bigelow's son talking about his mom and how Bigelow Teas started. And the second video features Cindi Bigelow, Ruth's granddaughter talking about their 25th Annual Community Challenge held last Sept. It's a road race/walk for all ages that raised over $110,000 for charities and organizations in Fairfield County. Now that's very impressive! Thank you Bigelow Tea for being so supportive to our Connecticut communities. As for me, one of my favorite Bigelow Tea flavors is Green Tea with Pomegranante and this couch looks just like an emerald green pasture.... ah, wouldn't it be nice to take a little rest in this pasture. :) Join in the Journey Hope you join me on this 30 day painting challenge... you can sign-up for these blog posts to be delivered right in your inbox... just look for the email sign-up box in the right column. Feel free to comment below and share either your favorite places and/or things to do in CT or...Do you have a favorite Bigelow Tea flavor, please share, I would love to hear your story. UPDATE: 2/26/13: This painting was sold at the 30 Paintings in 30 Days ONE DAY Show at SIX SUMMIT GALLERY in Ivoryton, CT last Sunday! I'm so happy this painting will find a special home with my dear friend Charlotte. Thank you Charlotte and Peggy for attending and being apart of this special day!
