![]() Meet Kiyo. My friend Debbie Nolan shared this picture with me a year ago. I've had it on my bulletin board with the best intentions to paint it "soon". With so much happening over this past year it's been difficult for me to get around to painting it. When the decision was made to commit to another 30 day challenge and choosing dogs as my theme, I knew that this pup just had to be in the line up! I had the pleasure to meet and play with Kiyo briefly. What a happy and lively pup! I give Debbie and her husband Steve so much credit for being "puppy raisers", attending weekly training classes and dedicated to raise this future service dog. Not an easy job at all! Here's what Debbie had to say, "The picture I sent of kiyo he was probably 4 or 5 months old and he lived with us until he was 16 months old! Our job as puppy raisers was to train him and teach him good house manners and lay the ground work for further training which he is now receiving at Guiding Eyes for the Blind for the next 4-6 months to prepare him to become a service dog for a blind person...it's up to kiyo now to do what he was born to do!" Thanks so much for your patience Debbie.... it was a pleasure painting Kiyo! This is Day 5 painting of a 30 Day Painting Challenge. I have joined in with over 240 other artists on fellow artist Leslie Saeta's blog. click here to link to the challenge. By the way, it 's not too late to join the challenge. If you have a cute dog photo you can email it to me mailto:lindasmarino@yahoo.com There's no obligation to purchase the painting. I will, however, give you the first chance to purchase it. Each painting is painted on either 8 x 10 inch or 8 x 8 inch canvas board with quality oil paints and varnished. The price is $140 + (shipping and CT sales tax). Unframed. with much gratitude, Linda
