"An Artful View", oil 6x6, $85
Today is Day 6 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge that I signed on to be apart of with Leslie Saeta and over 260 other artists.
My theme is: Connecticut Treasures.
At the start of this challenge I went through all my photos and wrote a list of all the places I've been to in Connecticut. The list grew and grew (well past 30 days) and so did the excitement just visualizing each place or moment made me realize how blessed I am to have an opportunity like this to express my love of creating art, the beautiful surroundings I live in, the people who inspire me and the ability to share it!
I couldn't wait to paint this painting and share it with you because if there's one place I love to talk about with such enthusiasm it is The New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT. Not just because I worked there a few years ago but because of the wonderful people that work there (which includes volunteers) the sensational architectural structure, the unique and lively gift shop (which a few of my art cards are for sale there) , the delicious cafe and oh, yes... did I mention the ART? LOVE IT ALL! But best of all, it still really IS a secret in Connecticut. So many local people I met have not visited the museum or know anything about it. Whether you're an artist, an art-lover, have a young and budding artist in the house or just the spirit of adventure within the New Britain Museum of American Art is the answer to that creative call.
