Bright and Cheerful wouldn't you say? It feels like your swimming in a large glass of orange juice! I love bright color walls and this vibrant color scene of warm reds and oranges with a splash of green foliage will make anyone feel toasty on a cold January day in CT.
Remember when I mentioned curling up and reading book on the teal colored couch in yesterday's blog post. Well, that might just happen sooner than I think... I just received a call this evening from a lovely lady name Susan who organized a painting party in December for a group of teachers she works. Susan is planning to another party this time for her book club - last friday March...and.... this is such a cool idea I just had to share it with you.... she asked if I could recommend any great novels about an artist/artist's life that we could combine the book and a painting together. Love it! My first thought was.... a book called ... Passion of Artemsia. I read this almost 8 years ago but I loved the book. Written by Susan Vreeland - a bestselling author. The Passion of Artemesia is a remarkable fictional portrait of Artemesia Gentileschi, one of the few female post-Renaissance painters to achieve fame during her own era. Ahh .... so now the challenge is to come up with a painting for a Corks and Canvas Book Club night.... Artemsia's work is very realistic figures from the 1500's .. amazing but not right for a painting party... but the book takes place in Florence Italy... so perhaps we could paint an italian street scene... or il Duomo - the famous cathedral in Florence.... so many ideas swirling around in my brain... can't wait to start sketching them out tomorrow... if you have any suggestions for novels about artists ... please leave a comment below. If this idea takes off... I think it would be great to offer a once a... month... may quarter... Corks and Canvas Book Club night based on or around art and/or artist. Until then.... Im looking forward to friday night's Corks and Canvas Tropical Beach Scene - its toasty warm in our studio these days - I think we'll play some Beach Boys music! Thanks again for viewing my art and reading my blog until tomorrow Linda
