![]() "Girls with Attitude", oil, 12 x 12 available at Maple and Main Gallery Sorry it's been a while since my last post but I've been very busy last month and I have lots of great news to share with you! In March, I met Gray Jacobik, a colorful abstract painter and well known poet at two different art events. Gray invited me to a gallery she is a member of in Chester called Maple and Main Gallery of Fine Art. Dean and I went one sunday afternoon to check it out and I immediately feel in love with both the gallery space and the beautiful artwork within. It's been many years since I've visited Chester, CT a quaint yet thriving little New England art community just off Route 9. Fast forward a few weeks and several email correspondences later and I'm back at the gallery enjoying a lovely conversation and interview with artist member Claudia Van Nes... well to make a long story short... I'm IN! I will be one of the 35 member artists represented at Maple and Main Gallery! One of Connecticut's premiere galleries in the state showcasing many of Connecticut's best known artists and sculptors. Here's a link to the gallery website: www.mapleandmaingallery.com hope you get a chance to check it out or if you live in the area, I would like to invite you to the next exhibit "Prelude to Summer" which opens Friday May 17, 2013 from 5 to 8pm. My latest work, "On the Farm" Series will be on view and for sale at the show. Here's the first of series. It's called "Girls with Attitude". My husband Dean has always wanted to live on a farm and last summer Dean brought home 4 chickens! He built a chicken coop for them to live in and lay eggs and when the kids came home from school that day... they were so excited! They even named them... Darcey, Annie, Midget and Kevin! Unfortunately we received a notice from the town stating that we weren't zoned for chickens so we had to get rid of them. Dean donated them to a farm down the street. :( Someday... there might be a farm in the future and Dean can have as many chickens as he wants! Hope to see you at the "Prelude to Summer" Show... Friday May 17th from 5-8pm. with much gratitude, Linda
