For one week in April 2018 I had the wonderful pleasure of traveling to Italy to see my son and his girlfriend in Rome. They are both in the undergraduate program at Suffolk University in Boston, MA but chose to study abroad for a semester in Rome Italy with JCU.
They gave me a splendid walking tour all over Rome, we saw all the popular attractions like the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, The Panthenon, and of course we had to stop for gelato and homemade pasta and pizza!
We travel by car and stayed on the west coast in a little village called Scarlino and from there we traveled around to Siena, Pisa and to Florence! Florence is where I studied 32 years ago with a study abroad program with Syracuse University.
When traveling, I like to carry a sketchbook and if I have time I'll do a few quick sketches and jot down some notes. Sometimes these sketches turn into future paintings and other times it just a wonderful visual journal of excursions.
I will share both my sketchbook and paintings here on this page along with a few videos. But for more details of the trip I'll be posting lots of details and ramblings on my blog.
