Glimmer of Hope, Hammonassett Beach, Madison, CT
8 x 10 oil on canvas panel
This piece was first started as a plein air painting one afternoon in May at Hammonassett Beach in Madison CT. The summer season wasn't in full swing and there were just a few folks walking around, dipping their toe in the chilly water with their pants rolled up to the knees. We had a very rainy spring this year. The sun was trying it's best to peak through the thick clouds in the sky but just enough to create these gorgeous coral peach colors which compliments the misty blue sky. As the sunlight glimmered across the water's surface I felt a sense of hope radiating right through me. An undeniable feeling of hope that we've turn the corner on a season that was filled with challenges and brighter days are ahead. I could feel my shoulders slowly dropped and the tension drifting away.
