Step 1 - Getting StartedContact me by phone, or email - Let’s get the conversation started.
We’ll pick a time for an initial meeting - This usually takes about 30 minutes, which is where we get to know each other. If your vision of a commissioned painting is based on a photo this is the best time to send over a few images so that we can review the images together. I’ll ask you a few questions about your ideas and visions of a commissioned painting. Like, what does this commission piece mean to you? The more we communicate in the beginning the smoother the process will go. I’ll also share with you my painting process so you get a full scope of concept to completion for a commissioned painting. |
Step 2 - Agreement and DepositAn agreement contract will be sent over. Detailing the overview of the and what’s expected from both of us. A 50% deposit is required to begin commissioned work. I will then block in the estimated painting time into my studio schedule.
Step 3 - Preliminary SketchesI will create a small sketch, depending on the commission project the sketch could be in pencil, watercolor, or a small oil study. They’ll be sent over for your review. At this stage, it is common to go through one or two rounds of sketch reviews and revisions to make sure we are on the same page. Commissions typically take 3-5 weeks to complete, depending on size and complexity.

Step 4 - Begin PaintingOnce we have the concept and composition set I’ll begin painting. Progress photos will be sent along the way. It’s wonderful to have your input throughout the process.
Step 5 - A Final Photo for your ReviewA final photo for your review. At this point, there might be only a few minor changes or edits.
Step 6- Packaged with LoveYour painting is ready for it's final coat of protective varnish. Then carefully packaged and ready to be shipped or hand-delivered.
Step 7- Reveal Day!Your painting is ready to hang and enjoy! Or ready to wrap and give as a gift!
